We are very happy to have you at Yadawei Ceramic studio for the onggi Masterclass held by Master Potters, Mr. Kwak Kyungtae and Mr. Marco Minetti (former apprentice, translator from Korean to English and co-teacher) from the 19th to the 29th of January 2024.
Timings: 10:30 to 17:30 (You need to arrive by 10:15) Lunch break mid day
What you'll learn
We will teach the Korean Onggi, which is a unique process of making a base, coils, and using wooden tools to paddle and form a large jar in a very efficient way.
About the program: Beginners are welcome. Even experienced throwers will be total beginners when it comes to onggi the methods are quite unique and different. This helps to level the playing field and makes for a welcoming atmosphere rather than a competitive one.
This is a technique focused "process oriented" course and not a fired object focus. Students often enjoy this aspect as it takes the pressure off making and they really lose themselves in the methods and engage fully.
